About Me
Inspiration
Experience
Hello, I'm Camila (Mila) De La Puente. I'm currently pursuing a bachelors of science in Arts and Entertainment technologies at the University of Texas at Austin. I began my artistic career when I was placed in acrylic painting lessons when I was eight in a storage unit with two retired artists. Although I've had doubts and there's an alternate reality where I might have pursued environmental science, I now realize that my passion for art would have eventually led me back to a creative path.

I find that I am almost perpetually engaged in some form of media consumption and with that comes inspiration. Whether it be an audiobook, a newly released album, or a familiar movie, I habitually have something playing in the background. In this context, I embrace the notion that originality is often an illusion—art is inherently influenced by other art. Artists collaborate, exchange ideas, and draw inspiration from the work of their peers. Consequently, consuming media is an integral part of the process of producing new media.

Throughout my academic career, I've contributed to various group projects in roles such as environmental artist, game asset artist, and narrative artist for 2D games. I've designed environments, scenes, and levels using both Unreal and Unity game engines. Additionally, I've explored UI design and real-time video programming, which have sparked new interests for me. I'm proficient in several tools within the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. I also have experience in 3D modeling and texturing using Autodesk Maya and 3D Substance Painter. However, I've found the greatest fulfillment in creating pieces that contribute to a larger project and being able to work alongside with like-mind artists.
